Reseña sobre Encuentro Social de Desarrolladores

Inspirador, Bueno, Excelente, Instructivo... fueron algunos de los calificativos que nos dejaron los participantes al "1er Encuentro Social de Desarrolladores en la Habana" que realizamos este sábado 25 de abril en la Casa Balear de la céntrica Avenida de los Presidentes. Unas treinta personas nos reunimos allí con el sencillo objetivo de conocernos entre nosotros, charlar y aprender un poco más sobre desarrollo de software.

Entrada libre, ofertas gastronómicas, charlas interesantes, tormenta de ideas sobre diferentes temas. El 1er encuentro social de desarrolladores de software ha sido organizado por un grupo de amigos inquietos con ganas de hacer y de marcar la diferencia.

Interview with Dominic Bortolussi, Managing Partner at TWG.

After a couple of years being a TWG's follower, this company has inspired me in many ways. From its slogan "Good people. Great Work." to its culture of collaboration and social presence, every aspect of TWG seems to be thought with the objective of being the best place to learn, work and grow at.

TWG is a software development company that design and engineer web and mobile products for growing startups and national brands, and partner with promising Startups through its Startup  Accelarator Program.

Dominic Bortolussi, Founder & Managing Partner, has accepted to answer a few questions for me after I told him about our intentions of creating an active social community of developers here in Cuba.

More than ten years of hard work, perseverance and team working have placed TWG in the center of technology community in Toronto. Its team has been upgraded to more than 50 guys whose skills vary from coders and designers to thinkers and problem solvers. TWG is no longer a Startup, but they were once and their experiences may light our path or just give us valuable inspiration.

Agile web development like teen sex?

According to Daniel Markham, these are the reasons why Agile Project Management is like teenage sex:

• You always exaggerate how much of it you’re getting;
• Everybody else seems to be having more than you;
• When somebody tells you about their experiences, you’re quick to point out that they’re not doing it right;
• You spend a lot of time reading and thinking about it;
• It’s very awkward trying to make happen;
• You can’t wait until you finally get the real deal;
• Nobody is really doing that much of it anyway.

Mi visión del Taller de Informatización y Ciberseguridad en Cuba.

Durante la pasada semana, tuvo lugar en la Habana el Primer Taller de Informatización y Ciber-Seguridad cuyo objetivo fué perfilar las bases, objetivos principales y prioridades para el proceso de informatización de la sociedad cubana. En el Taller participaron mas de 11 mil especialistas de la rama, distribuidos en mas de 20 salones en todo el país conectados mediante teleconferencia o mediante un foro-debate hospedado en las web del Ministerio de las Comunicaciones.

En mi opinión, el Taller fué un éxito!
